Fun facts
-
Flowers and stalks are edible and taste like a mix between garlic and chives, but I'd say more the former as I don't like chives and I love the taste of this!
-
As per it's name, the stalks have three corners!
-
Act quick, it's there one minute, then it's gone.
Uses
-
Delicious sprinkled on salads or as a garnish on other meals.
-
They are also one of the few wild plants that keep quite well as cut flowers (the thick stem helps it retain water!). In the spring time I usually cut a few before visiting friends, wrap them in newspaper, and offer them as an edible wildflower bouquet.
